Frank Polke and Son has been our Family Undertaker for many years, and as such is considered a family friend. I know what a difference Frank Polke makes, contrasted with another undertaker that had nowhere near his kindness, empathy, or charm. The death of my father recently was handled in the most beautiful, loving way. We met with Frank and his incredibly high-tech daughter, Stephanie, to discuss all the details. My Dad was a navy veteran in WWII, and thanks to Frank Polke, received full military honors. Following the funeral mass, several Navy personnel set up directly in front of us. Two corpsmen and a flag bearer moved into formation, and shot their rifles into the air. Another navy man played "Taps" on his bugle (this always moves me to tears). Lastly, two naval officers in their dress whites very carefully, lovingly folded the flag on my Dad's coffin, triangle to triangle, until they had the flag in a beautifully-folded, tight pouch. One of the officers approached me, thanking my Dad for his service, and thanking my Dad "on behalf of the President of the United States of America", then saluting me and handing me his flag. I saluted back. I was SO impressed! Thank you, Frank Polke, for planning such an incredibly heart-warming ceremony for my Dad, and one that I know he would've loved!
